Part of “adult-ing” is investing in your home. Interior designers are sometimes crucial in planning your home aesthetic and decor. Designers, not to be confused with decorators, understand their client’s behaviors to create functional spaces within the home or building. I’m fortunate to know a few great Interior Designers who I will highlight periodically. The first designer that I would like to share with you all is Neffi Walker, aka the Decor Goddess.
I’m obsessed with Neffi’s use of black within the space. Not just the color black, but she uses elements and pieces that represent black culture and heritage in her clients’ homes. Here are some images from her own home. View the rest here.
“With a penchant for transforming spaces using non-traditional hues to make bold statements, the “Decor Goddess” has since become known for her masterful skill at bringing shades like onyx and oxblood into the everyday home, inspiring the birth of Le Noir Home, a full service interior design firm and curated boutique stocked with hand-selected pieces inspired by Neffi’s love for timeless elegance and all things noir. Neffi’s design works have ranged from residential to commercial design projects and her work has been published in renowned media outlets such as Apartment Therapy, Houzz, The Baltimore Times and Essence Magazine, to name a few. With a bustling group of four lively and equally creative children, Neffi has mastered the skill of transforming a whirlwind of imagination, resourcefulness, and love of family into inspiration for life as a mother, designer, and fearless femme fatale.”
Are you running to grab some black paint? I know I am, lol. First I must figure out which room I will work on first. Stay tuned.
